“Let the little children come, and do not hinder them. For I tell you all, unless you perceive the Kingdom of God like a child, you do not perceive it at all…”

Children learn how to worship by participating in worship. Adults learn to see the kingdom through the eyes and minds of children. Therefore, all ages worship together.

Mini Revolutions providees devotions and lessons for children of all ages and each of the sessions includes:

  • Scripture: One selected scripture that the rest of the components are based on.
  • Questions: Imagining and wondering questions that are open-ended and connect more deeply with the scripture.
  • Look It Up: We highlight a moment in history, an interesting fact, or a person who made an impact that connects with the scripture's theme. This activity allows participants to explore and connect with the world around them and see how scripture can be lived out.
  • Activity: We provide a fun mix of activities that help participants think creatively about the scripture through building and design, earth care, social justice, self-care and compassion, social/emotional learing, science, technology, and art.
  • Micropractice: A simple practice/ritual anchored in daily activities to help form healthy, spiritual, and mindful habits.
  • Coloring Page: It includes an illustration of a short phrase scripture.
  • Bible Story Booklet: A child-friendly paraphrase of the scripture, accessible for all ages, with colorable illustrations that help tell the story.

Children's Worship

OPC believes children belong in worship! We also recognize that younger bodies and minds have unique needs. That is why we provide this space with children's activity bulletins, books, quiet toys, coloring materials, fidgets, and more in our sanctuary. We invite you and your children to visit the Grace Space the next time you are in worship where they can find a spot to play or pick activities to take back to their seat. All children are always welcome for all of worship. They lead us in worship. They are welcome to be themselves and make blessed children’s noises, all during worship.

All Children’s ministry staff and volunteers are provided

child protection training and follow denominational guidelines

and the OPC Child and Youth Protection Policy.
