GUIDING PRINCIPLES

Our guiding principles are defined by God’s mission in the world revealed in Jesus Christ who came to seek and save the lost. He commissions us to go into the world and make disciples (Matthew 28:19-20)

Our highest calling is to learn to love God with our heart, mind, soul and strength; to learn to love one another as Christ has loved us; and to love our neighbors as we love ourselves

(Matthew 22:36-40 and John 13:34-35)

Worship is the heart of our life together, and we believe that the work of God flows from the Spirit-filled worship of God. (Psalm 95:6-7, Matthew 4:10)

Scripture, faithfully interpreted in the power of the Spirit, is our guide for faith and life. (Hebrews 4:12, James 1:22, Matthew 4:1-11)

We keep our hearts and minds open, believing that the Spirit will lead us to do new things & be new people as we listen to God through prayer, scripture & fellowship with one another.

(Isaiah 43:19, Acts 2:17-18, Romans 8)

Fun is another word for the fruit of the Spirit, joy, and is a sacred activity.

(Acts 2:46-47, Galatians 5:22)

We practice forgiving one another. Accepting God’s forgiveness, we freely extend forgiveness and caring to one another. (Matthew 6:12, Ephesians 4:32)

We strive to live as servants in the world, following Jesus’ example.

(Matthew 20:28; John 13:14-15; Matthew 25:40)

We seek to be faithful stewards, doing all things with excellence and integrity. (Colossians 3:17)

We believe in the power of prayer. (1 Timothy 2:1-4, 1 Thessalonians 3:7-10, Acts 2:42)

We bear one another’s burdens. (Galatians 6:2)
